2 Things To Do To Get Ready For Your Open House

Posted on

Open houses are important when you are selling your house. The open house will let all kinds of potential buyers come in and see your house. That can help make your house sell faster. If you are gong to have an open house, there are things that you need to do so that you will be ready to go.

Advertise

One thing you need to do is to make sure that people actually know about your open house. That's where advertising comes in. Your realtor should be able to help you with some of that. For example, they may put an ad in the paper and can place signage in front of your house and possibly at intersections near your home so that people can see them. There are some things that you can do as well. You can make your own signage and place it on various telephone poles and such so that people can see it. You want to make sure that your signs are easily visible, so you may want to do something like put balloons on your signs and outside your house so that people will know they are the right place. You can also look at various groups on social media. Sites like Facebook often have groups to help people who are looking to buy or sell homes in an area. You can put up information in that group, which will get your open house information out to a lot of people.

Take Care of Your Pets

You love your pets and your pets love you, but that doesn't mean that they will love everyone or that everyone will love them. You need to make sure that you have someplace safe to put your cats and dogs during the open house. You don't want to leave them out in the yard, because people may want to look at the yard. For your dogs, if you use a crate for them, you may want to move the crate into the garage and leave them in there. You may also want to cover up the crate as well, just to give them more security. Another option is to take your dog or cat out to a friend's house or even board them overnight at a kennel or at your vet's office, just so that they aren't in the house and getting stressed.

If you are going to have an open house, you want to make sure that you do everything you can to make it successful.
